In answer to the many questions we have received; If you live on Long Island we do NOT oppose the three regions plan (Long Island, New Amsterdam, and New York). You can review http://open.nysenate.gov/legislation/bill/A3116-2015 (Note this bill only allows a Long Island study; it does NOT create a region/state) or review this website http://www.longislandstate.org/politicians.html and the several Facebook pages that want to separate long Island.
Despite our sending many emails and making many phone calls, so far no organized group or elected official has replied to us about a three regions plan. You may have to form a group or talk your NYS Senator or Assemblyman. If you do find or start a group please email us at [email protected] with a subject line long island and we can work together.

National Attention For Conklin, So. Tier Economic Struggles

Fracking and other economic issues have prompted leaders in a number of Southern Tier towns to study the idea of seceding from New York. One town leader is now taking his message to a national stage. This as another group which wants to break away from downstate could soon join forces with local towns.
