Please ask your Town board member or City Council member to pass the following resolution.

Whereas: The views of people who live in the upstate and downstate areas of New York State are very different and really should be divided into two states, or two completely autonomous regions.
It is therefore resolved: that the City/Town/Village of _(city/town/village name) board/council_ in _(county name) _ County request our NYS legislators support an amendment to our New York State constitution to divide our state into two completely autonomous regions; the New Amsterdam Region and the New York Region with only a token state government. A draft of the proposed amendment is attached.
